Security guards are often portrayed as lazy, overweight, bumbling and altogether inappropriate when it comes to actually securing a place that pays for it. I worked as a security guard, and still have some friends who were security personnel and can say that I have found that the stereotype that is misleading and not very realistic description of yourself and the guys know that the security guards. I think the stereotype stems from the fact that many security guards will never see any real "action" and never have to use force to secure and protect the area, but it was a security guard could be invited to do so at any time and for many other professions will never understand the stress that goes along with that knowledge.
